Timothy (Tim) J. Oursler

Timothy (Tim) J. Oursler advises and assists clients on a wide range of business and real estate matters. Tim specializes in estate planning, trust & estate administration, real estate and commercial transactions.

Tim works with clients to develop comprehensive, tax-efficient estate plans, including lifetime gift planning, preparation of wills and many types of trusts, powers of attorney, medical directives, special needs trusts and life estate deeds. In addition, Tim advises his clients on probate and non-probate estate and trust administration.

Tim’s real estate practice includes representing owners, borrowers, private equity funds and lenders in all aspects of commercial and residential real estate transactions, Tim also regularly counsels businesses and developers in a variety of corporate and commercial real estate matters, including commercial transactions, commercial lending, business succession planning and foreclosures.

Tim graduated from the Gilman School in Baltimore (1986), received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia (1990), and J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law (1993, cum laude). Upon his graduation from law school, Tim concentrated on estates and trusts and civil litigation, including workers’ compensation, personal injury defense, and bankruptcy with a Baltimore City Firm.

Prior to joining McAllister, DeTar, Showalter & Walker (MDSW), Tim was a partner at Royston, Mueller, McLean and Reid, LLP, where he practiced for over 20 years. Tim lives in Lutherville, Maryland with his wife and three children. Tim enjoys spending time with his family and traveling with his wife.
