Family Law Attorney Morgan E. Foster Joins MDSW as a Partner

McAllister, DeTar, Showalter & Walker LLC (MDSW) is pleased to announce that Morgan E. Foster joined the firm as a partner whose practice is focused on Family Law, with a concentration in divorce, division of property, alimony, custody, visitation and child support. The scope of her practice encompasses counseling, negotiating, and litigating.

In her family law practice, Morgan draws on years of experience representing corporate clients (including Fortune 500 companies) in matters involving disputes arising from corporate mergers, buy-outs, sales, acquisitions or other dissolution. Ms. Foster applies her experience with “corporate divorces” to assist clients with complex divorce and custody issues, including complicated division of property. Morgan’s empathy and ability to quickly connect with clients allows her to excel in the area of family law. Morgan will serve on the faculty of University of Virginia School of Law’s National Trial Advocacy College (for experienced attorneys) in 2020.

Ms. Foster received her B.A. from Brown University with honors in 2001 and her J.D. from Emory University Law School in 2005.  Morgan has received numerous awards and recognition in the areas of Family Law and Trial Advocacy including but not limited to being named one of Maryland’s “Super Lawyer” selected for inclusion in the area of Family Law, What’s Up Eastern Shore® – Eastern Shore Leading Lawyers – Selected for inclusion in the area of Family Law, What’s Up Annapolis® – Annapolis Leading Lawyers – Selected for inclusion in the area of Family Law. 

Morgan’s roots in Maryland are deep, with ancestors dating back to the first European settlers on the Chesapeake Bay. She grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and returned after years living in Providence, San Francisco, Atlanta and D.C. In her free time, Ms. Foster is heavily involved in charity work. She founded the Grin Gala fundraiser, which has raised over $1 Million to benefit Operation Smile in their mission to provide healthcare services to children born with facial deformities. She has also served on the boards of St. Andrew’s School and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the Mid-Shore, and currently serves on the board of Chesapeake Bay Saver’s (environmental education and advocacy).  Morgan lives on the Eastern Shore with her husband and son.
