MDSW Expands Family Law Practice with Addition of Janine Evans Wolford

McAllister, DeTar, Showalter & Walker LLC (MDSW) is pleased to announce that Janine Evans Wolford joined the firm as a Senior Associate.  Janine focuses her practice in the area of family law, with a concentration in divorce, division of property, alimony, custody, visitation, and child support.

Ms. Wolford utilizes her years of experience in family law as well as general litigation to support clients in achieving their individual goals. She is client focused and understands how difficult and taxing family disputes can be on those navigating the process. Ms. Wolford’s knowledge in dealing with domestic violence matters assists her in helping guide clients through family law matters with compassion and empathy.

“As our client base and geographic footprint has expanded over the years, we have seen an increased demand for family law services. When Morgan Foster joined the firm, we anticipated that we would need more assistance. We did not expect it to occur this soon nor did we expect to obtain an attorney with the experience, work ethic and professionalism that Janine possesses. We were extremely pleased to be able to convince Janine to join our team,”said Douglas Walker, co-Founder of MDSW.

Ms. Wolford received her B.A. from University of Mary Washington in 2004 and her J.D. from University of Baltimore Law School in 2007. While in law school, she participated in the Family Law Clinic in which she represented the underserved population of Baltimore City as a Rule 16 attorney in domestic matters often involving domestic violence and abuse. Ms. Wolford also worked as a staff attorney at the non-profit organization Sexual Assault Spouse Abuse Resource Center located in Harford County, Maryland. In 2009, she joined a general litigation firm located in Prince George’s County, Maryland in which she practiced family law, civil litigation in matters of business, contract and construction disputes as well as represented a variety of professionals in disciplinary matters before their respective licensing boards.

Ms. Wolford grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and spent much of her childhood in Ocean City and Salisbury, Maryland. Several years ago, she returned to the Eastern Shore and has made it her home once again.  She is based in the firm’s Easton office and can be reached at (443) 496-3581.
